Will you help protect local farms? As the year-end approaches, you can make a meaningful contribution to the preservation of farmland across Yolo County. Your gift to YLT directly supports essential work to finalize land agreements with willing landowners, ensuring more farmland is protected for future generations. Together we can cultivate hope for the future of farming in Yolo County.

Farm-To-Fork Fundraiser on Woodland Ranch

Join Yolo Land Trust on Sunday October 1 from 2pm – 5pm for our annual farm-to-fork fundraiser, A Day in the Country, which brings together 300 guests for an intimate gathering to taste Yolo County’s bounty on a picturesque Yolo County farm.

A Day in the Country features the best local chefs, farms, wineries, and breweries, for a one-of-a-kind food experience on a gorgeous family ranch in Woodland. This year the event returns to a family ranch that hosted the event once before in 2005. Timothy Ranch is the home of Kim and Trish Timothy, situated just northwest of Woodland on the south side of Cache Creek. This serene property is a beautiful setting for an afternoon enjoying delicious food and drink under the large shady trees, while surrounded by farmland.

What began as a small wine and cheese gathering, A Day in the Country has become YLT’s signature fundraising event that highlights the relationship between field and table and the importance farmland has on sustaining our community. Participating chefs are provided with the freshest, seasonal produce, nuts, oils, meats, and grains grown on Yolo County farms to craft their dishes served at the event. We already have confirmation from chefs from The Waterboy (Sacramento), Mulvaney’s B&L (Sacramento), Canon (Sacramento) and Franquette (West Sacramento).

Sponsorships are now available! We invite you to become a sponsor and enjoy knowing that you are part of the community who supports local farmland conservation. As a Sponsor, you will receive admissions to the event, marketing benefits, and will demonstrate that you value all that farms provide – food, jobs, clean air, open space, wildlife habitat, and a thriving community.

Tickets will be sold online only and they will be available on August 4. Due to the limited space available at the event, we expect the event to sell out. To stay up to date on all the announcements for A Day in the Country please follow Yolo Land Trust’s social media accounts – Facebook & Instagram.

We are eager to celebrate A Day in the Country with you on October 1st. If you have any questions, please contact Stacy Wear at 530-662-1110 or swear@theyololandtrust.org.
