Elkhorn Basin

Elkhorn Basin

Our Elkhorn Basin easements are located along the east side of Yolo County between the Yolo Bypass and the Sacramento River. The Yolo Bypass is a 59,000-acre floodway that conveys floodwaters from the Sacramento River and other valley waterways during periods of heavy winter rains. The soils in this area are designated prime farmland as they historically benefited from seasonal flooding. Crops grown here include walnuts, pistachios and a variety of row crops.
