Davis-Woodland Corridor

Our 26 easements between the cities of Davis and Woodland are vital for upholding the longstanding policy to keep these two cities separate. Like a great deal of Yolo County, the land in this area is designated as prime farmland and crops grown here are a mixture of orchards, mostly almond and walnut, and row crops such as tomatoes, corn, sunflower, winter wheat and alfalfa.

  • Shane Tucker & Marsha Baird

Ten years ago Shane Tucker and his wife Marsha Baird made a major career and lifestyle change. They moved their young family from San Francisco to Davis and swapped their jobs behind desks to become farmers. The shift from office to farm wasn’t a rash decision as Shane had always known he wanted to farm.
  • The Kerr Plainfield Farm

For Josie and Garrett Beoshanz, growing up on the Kerr Plainfield Farm on County Road 29 will be the continuation of history. Their grandmother Carol Kerr Beoshanz spent the first eight years of her life on Kerr Plainfield Farm, as did Carol’s mother Lorraine Rothe Kerr and Carol’s grandfather, Herman Rothe. In fact, the homesite was established in 1908.
