Call for Artists: Plein Air Painters
Two artists wanted for a plein air painting demonstration & commission at Yolo Land Trust’s annual fundraiser, A Day in the Country.

Yolo Land Trust (YLT) is seeking two painters to artistically capture the event activities and the farm landscape during YLT’s annual fundraising event, A Day in the Country.
Event Date: Sunday, September 14, 2025
Event Time: 2-5 pm
Event Location: Putah Creek Land Co, Winters, CA
A Day in the Country is a beloved tradition – bringing together farmers, food lovers, and conservationists to celebrate the rich agricultural heritage of Yolo County and Yolo Land Trust’s work to conserve precious local farmland. Enjoy delicious food, live music, sip on exceptional wines and craft brews, and connect with those who share a passion for preserving our agricultural land! What began as a small wine and cheese gathering in 1989, A Day in the Country has become YLT’s signature fundraising event that highlights the relationship between field and table and the importance farmland has on sustaining our community.
Commission Details:
The artwork(s) commissioned for this event will be gifted at the discretion of YLT.
Artwork should be completed on-site by 5 pm (if additional time is needed artist(s) must make arrangements with YLT staff before the event on September 14). The event begins at 2:00 pm, artist(s) would have access to the venue at 1:00pm to set up and begin their work. Artist(s) must be actively creating at the venue from 2-5pm.
Artists are responsible for bringing the necessary supplies they need. A cocktail table and umbrella may be provided by YL, if requested by the artist beforehand.
Artists will receive $400 value for their art – including admission to popular fundraiser with exceptional food and wine ($150 ticket value) and a $250 payment via check after the event for the art commissioned.
How to Submit Your Work:
Interested artists should email an introduction and 3-5 samples of their work to Stacy Wear swear@theyololandtrust.org.
The deadline to apply is Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
