Join us on Sunday September 25 from 2pm – 5pm for our annual farm-to-fork fundraiser, A Day in the Country, which brings together 200 guests for an intimate gathering to taste Yolo County’s bounty on a picturesque Yolo County farm.
The event will be returning to River Garden Farms, a beautiful farm located on the banks of the Sacramento River just west of the small town of Knights Landing. The space provides abundant shade, it features two-hundred-year-old oak trees encircling an expansive lawn.
Guests of this year’s A Day in the Country can look forward to a wonderful afternoon tasting thoughtfully crafted small plates from top Northern California chefs and sipping delicious wines and beers poured by local Yolo County wineries and breweries. It is a true celebration of the world-class food grown on Yolo County farms and the recognition of agriculture’s significant role in the County’s economy and quality of life.
For 2022, we are planning an intimate gathering, scaled down to 200 guests, to offer guests and participating restaurants the opportunity to connect and fully enjoy the experience of coming together to celebrate the resiliency of our agriculture community.
After our 2020 virtual event and our three small sized events in 2021, we received significant positive feedback. “The smaller event size allows for better conversation among guests, and the chance to savor the tastings crafted by the highly touted chefs who participate,” said Yolo Land Trust outreach committee member Mary-Ann Warmerdam.
A Day in the Country is the signature fundraising event to support Yolo Land Trust’s mission to conserve farmland in Yolo County. The event aims to shed light on the importance of conserving local farmland for future generations by connecting guests with the abundance of products grown on local farms by local farmers. It is acknowledged as a favorite farm-to-fork event among the region’s chefs because their creativity is enhanced by cooking with the freshest product possible. Their menu at the event highlights the abundance of food grown on Yolo County’s rich farmland.
Sponsorship opportunities are now available! We invite you to become a Sponsor and enjoy knowing that you are part of the community who supports local farmland conservation. As a Sponsor you will receive admissions to the event, marketing benefits, and will demonstrate that you value all that farms provide – food, jobs, clean air, open space, wildlife habitat, and a thriving community.
Due to the limited space available at the event, ticket sales will begin on July 15. We anticipate sharing confirmed chefs/restaurants, wineries, and breweries in the coming weeks. To stay up to date on all the announcements for A Day in the Country please follow Yolo Land Trust’s social media accounts – Facebook & Instagram.
