Yolo Land Trust to Co-Host Workshop on Farm and Ranch Succession Planning
Winters, CA— As the average age of farmers, ranchers, and agricultural landowners continues to rise, the working land they steward is at a moment of seismic transition. At least one third of the United States’ agricultural land is projected to change hands by 2035, and this point of ownership transfer is when agricultural land is most vulnerable to conversion and development.
California Rangeland Trust and Yolo Land Trust are partnering to co-host a workshop for farmers and ranchers of Yolo County and Northern California interested in succession planning for the transfer of their land to the next generation of ownership. This engaging discussion will include an opportunity to hear from experts on estate planning, business transition, appraisals, and conservation strategies.
Farmers and ranchers of all experience levels and backgrounds are invited to join the workshop. Registration is required in advance and the $25 cost includes lunch.
